Who we are
Kami Robotics builds AI agents, such as Dave, Ada, Luna and Mochi. They take part in group chats on Telegram, WhatsApp and Discord, answer email, post on X, talk on kami.bot, and can live in a small device. This page covers all of them. Kami is run by Metahood Inc.
The short version
- An agent remembers the conversations it is in, and learns about the people in them, without asking first. That is how it stays useful to a group over time.
- Your face and your voice are the exception: they are kept only if you say yes.
- Conversations are kept for 12 months: after that the messages, the media sent in them and the summaries made from them are deleted. What an agent chose to remember (its notes about people, facts and linked accounts, what it learned) has no fixed expiry. It stays until you or we delete it.
- You can download a copy of it or delete your account yourself, at
kami.bot/me, and ask us for the rest at hello@kami.bot.
What an agent keeps, without asking
- Messages. In a conversation an agent is part of, it keeps the messages for 12 months: the text, who sent it (the name and account id the platform shows) and when. When you talk to an agent by voice, what you say is kept as text.
- Media. Photos, voice notes, videos and files sent in those conversations, and what the agent reads from them: a transcript, a description, the text of a document.
- Notes about people. Every hour or so, an agent writes notes about the people it talks with: what they said about themselves, what they are up to, names and places. It also keeps what people tell it about themselves or about others. You are not asked first.
- Facts about you. Things like your birthday, your city, your time zone, your email or phone number, when you or someone allowed to (an agent's owner, or an admin of a group you are in) gives them to an agent.
- Your profile picture. The picture your account shows on the platform, fetched about once a day, and a short description of it.
- Which accounts are the same person. Each account that writes in a conversation is recorded. When you sign in on
kami.botor link an account, the agent records that your accounts on different platforms belong to one person. A name the agent guesses is never treated as proof of who you are. - Your account on kami.bot. When you sign in with Telegram, we keep your Telegram account id and name, and attach them to what the agents already know of you.
Faces and voices
Agents can recognize people by their face, in photos and on camera, and Dave also by their voice in live voice sessions. To do it, an agent computes a template: a list of numbers that describes a face or a voice, kept with the small crop of the face or the short voice clip it came from. A template is biometric data, so:
- Nothing of your face or voice is kept until you say yes. Until then, an agent can know who you are in the conversation you are in, and forgets your face and voice when it ends. An agent may ask you once whether it may remember them. You can also answer with the "Face and voice" switch on your page at
kami.bot/me. One exception: a photo you asked an agent to use as your own picture counts as a yes until you answer. - A no erases. If you say no, or turn the switch off, every agent erases what it kept of your face and voice, and does not learn them again unless you change your mind.
- Only you can say yes. Not the person who introduced you, not a group's admin, not us.
- Templates that stop serving are deleted. A template that has not recognized anyone for 12 months is deleted, whatever you answered.
- Each agent keeps its own. Templates are not shared between agents.
Asking first is what our software does by default, not a setting of the moment. If we ever change it, we will change this page first.
Who can see it
- People in the conversation see what is said there. An agent can bring what it learned in one conversation into another only when everyone there could already see where it came from. What is marked private, like your email or phone number, it only brings up with you, one to one.
- Other Kami agents. Notes and templates belong to each agent. Facts about you, your profile picture and which accounts are yours are shared by all Kami agents.
- The person who runs an agent. Whoever created or operates an agent can read that agent's conversations, private ones included, and its notes about people.
- Us. Kami's team can read everything the agents keep, to run and fix the service and to answer your requests.
How long
- Messages and media: 12 months. A message, a photo, a voice note or a file sent in a conversation is deleted 12 months after it was sent, with what the agent read from it. A picture stays longer only when something still uses it: a newer message, your profile picture, a picture you pinned as yours, or a face or voice template (below).
- Summaries of a conversation that the agents write by themselves (of a day, a week, a month, a year) are deleted once the whole period they cover is more than 12 months old.
- Notes, facts and what an agent learned: no fixed expiry. This is what an agent chose to remember: its notes about people (including the summary of you that
kami.bot/meshows), facts about people, which accounts are the same person, and its knowledge. Pictures an agent made without anyone's photo stay too. They stay until you or we delete them. - Pictures an agent made from a photo (of you or of anyone) are deleted 12 months after they were made, and so are answers to an invitation (yes, no, a note).
- Face and voice templates: until you say no, or after 12 months without recognizing anyone.
- Backups of the agents' database are kept for 72 hours. Something deleted can stay in a backup for up to 72 hours more.
- Logs. The agent runtime keeps technical logs (request paths, errors, timings) in a file of fixed size that is overwritten as it fills. The detailed record of each call to a language model is deleted after three days. Errors are reported to Sentry, which keeps them under its own terms.
- Sign-in: the
kami_sessioncookie lasts up to 30 days.
Cookies and your browser
When you sign in, kami.bot sets one cookie, kami_session, which keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. It cannot be read by scripts on the page. There are no advertising cookies, no analytics cookies and no third-party trackers.
Who else receives it
To answer, an agent sends the relevant part of a conversation to the services below. Each processes it under its own terms.
- Language models, which read messages and media to write a reply: Anthropic, OpenAI, Google (Gemini), xAI, and Typesafe, which decides whether the agent should reply at all.
- Voice: ElevenLabs and Fish Audio turn replies into speech, Soniox turns speech into text.
- Images and video the agent makes: fal.
- Web search, which receives the search query only: Brave, Exa, Giphy.
- The platforms themselves, which carry the messages under their own policies: Telegram, WhatsApp (through Kapso), Discord, X, and domani.run for email.
- Hosting: Fly.io runs the agents and their database, Tigris stores media and backups, Vercel serves this website, Sentry receives error reports.
We do not sell personal data and do not use it for advertising.
Your rights, and how to use them
Some of it you can do yourself, right now:
- Erase your face and voice: the "Face and voice" switch at
kami.bot/me, or say no when an agent asks. - Erase your messages in one conversation: type
/forget mein it. It deletes your messages in that conversation and erases your face and voice for every agent. It does not delete your messages elsewhere, the notes agents wrote about you, or your account. - Download your data: the "Download my data" button at
kami.bot/mesaves one file with your linked accounts, the facts and notes agents keep about you, your own messages, your answers about your face and voice, and links to the files you sent (the links work for 24 hours). Messages other people wrote are not in it, even when they mention you. Once an hour at most. - Delete your account: the "Delete my account" button at
kami.bot/me, after you type DELETE. It deletes your linked accounts, your messages in every conversation, your conversations alone with an agent, the facts and notes agents keep about you, your face and voice, your sign-ins, your devices and the files you sent. Messages other people wrote stay in their conversations, even when they quote you; summaries of a group may name you; agents you created stay, without you as their creator; our backups keep a copy for up to 72 hours. In Kami World, within minutes, it deletes the places you alone own, your looks and their files, and your sign-ins there; things you made in other people's places stay without your name, and moderation records are kept. - See what an agent remembers about you: sign in at
kami.bot/me. It shows the summary that agent keeps of you, not every note. - Unlink an account from the others on
kami.bot/me. - Sign out, which removes the cookie from your browser.
For everything else, write to us. You can ask us to correct what we keep about you, or object to how we use it. Write to hello@kami.bot and say which agent and which platform account it concerns. If you are in the European Union, you can also complain to your data protection authority (in France, the CNIL).
Children
Kami is not meant for anyone under 16 (see our Terms). If you learn that someone under 16 has used it, write to us at hello@kami.bot and we will delete what we keep about them.
